Tylenol Case Removed to Federal Court

After being hospitalized for 10 days for acute liver failure caused by Acetaminophen toxicity, Charlotte Lee Thompson filed a case against Johnson & Johnson in Florida state court.  Last month, the case was removed to the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida due to the diversity of citizenship between McNeil and Thompson.

This case comes after research showing that Acetaminophen toxicity is the leading cause of acute liver failure in the United States.  In addition, many more Americans are at risk to unintentionally overdosing on Tylenol (and increasing their risk to suffering liver failure) due to inadequate information regarding the dangers of Tylenol.
